Booking your Event:

  • Check the Event Calendar for estimated availability. Due to our summer camp program and the facility not being winterized, we are only able to accommodate late May, late August and September events.
  • If you would like, contact us to arrange a time to tour the facility.
  • Complete the Wedding Questionnaire or Event Questionnaire to help us better understand the services you are requesting for your day. Of course, changes can be made. Marie or Alli will contact you with any questions they may have and/or to set up a time to chat through your choices with you. This questionnaire will help us determine cost as well. A $500 deposit is needed to confirm your date.
  • Email or call Marie or Alli with any questions or with help determining whether Foley would be a good fit for your event – we are outside the box thinkers! We can probably help make it wonderful!

Beverage Service

A private bar may be set up on the porch of the dining room, under a tent, or inside the dining room. We can provide wooden-style tables and a canoe can be set-up outside for guests to fill with ice for canned and bottled beverages.  Camp Foley employees cannot serve alcoholic beverages; however, most events do work with bar tenders or designated person for the serving of drinks. We highly suggest having a bar tender when hard alcohol is being served.  You are responsible for ice and all drinkware.

Cabin Rental

Each cabin sleeps 10 individuals and check-in times will be worked out to accommodate your event.  We ask for a primary person from each cabin to be identified and is responsible for settling other guests. Check-out is 11:00 a.m. on departure day.

The estimated number of cabins is requested 6 weeks in advance with final count 2 weeks in advance and payable by the Renter on this contract. The Renter is responsible for collecting fees from guests and assigning cabins. Outside fireplaces and wood are provided for our guests if requested, hiking trails, and use of basketball and volleyball courts. A small breakfast of donuts, muffins, fruit and coffee/tea can be provided for an extra fee.

It is suggested that you email the “Overnight Guests at Camp Foley” PDF to your guests.

Chapel

Our Lady of Snows Chapel was built in 1935 and is a Minnesota Historical Site and is a perfect location for a small service (wedding, baptism, etc) – max of approximately 120 people. Due to its historical nature, benches, statues, etc. must remain as is in the Chapel. All decorations are to be free-standing – nothing can be taped etc. to the walls. Candles, if used, need to be in enclosed containers.

Guests may use the chapel for Catholic or Christian weddings. If it is a Catholic wedding, permission must be granted from Immaculate Heart Church in Crosslake (218-692-2678).   There are two aisles with 12 benches on each side seating 5 adults/bench.  Windows – 3 on each side by the benches; 1 across from the side door; 2 on each side of the altar or 4 in total; and 3 behind the altar. There are 2 electrical outlets in the front of the church with one on the west side (15 amp) and one on the north side (20amp). Keyboard: The keyboard is touch-sensitive – The brand is Yamaha DGX-300 Portable Grand.

Many folks opt to do do their service outside of the chapel and use the red door and stone archway as a backdrop.

Commercial Kitchen

If you choose the Full Kitchen Option, caterers have use of the kitchen until midnight on the day of your event and are free to use the 4 convection and 2 conventional ovens. We ask that they bring their own pots and pans, utensils, and serving dishes to accommodate them in food preparation and serving. It is expected that the kitchen is left in the condition as it was found – counters and stoves wiped off, flours swept and mopped.

We also offer a Light Use option for our kitchen for those that just want access to storage space, refrigerator and freezer but won’t be using the kitchen for cooking.

Please inquire as to assist with heating and attractively maintaining buffet tables for main entrée, dessert, or appetizers, bussing tables, or running the commercial dishwasher. Click here for Thoughts on Catering at Foley

Dining Room Facility

The dining room will seat a maximum of 250 people (95′ x 38′). If space is needed for dancing, fewer numbers would be needed in the dining room. The dining room would be available for set-up either the day before or the morning of your event, depending on your timing, what is contracted as well as potential other events happening before your event. Everything would need to be taken down and removed that day by midnight.

The dining room has:

54”/60” circular tables – 8 of the 60” tables; 20 of the 54″ tables all with a walnut/brown Formica top
8 – wooden chairs per table
4 – 96″ X 30″ banquet tables
8 – 72″x30″ banquet tables

2 tables – 4’ X 2’ with adjustable heights
*Tables will be set-up by Foley personnel as requested or with a standard set-up
and there are suggested floor plans available.

All furniture and equipment in the interior are to remain inside the dining room and kitchen area.  Foley does not have linens, matching dinnerware, or stainless steel to accommodate groups.  All decorations are to be free-standing – nothing can be taped, nailed, etc. to the walls or other structures.

The cost of your facility rental includes a lighting package for indoor including 7 LED indoor light strings to hang from the ceiling, strung across the dining hall.

On the deck of the dining room is 1 large wooden table 32” by 14 feet and 2 smaller tables 32” by 7 feet.

Ending Time

Most of the events we hold are weddings, receptions, or other life events (birthday parties, anniversaries, etc). The end time for those events is Midnight (with the exception of those folks that have rented cabins). For other events that are using the facility for an extended period of time, just ask and we will work with you individually to come up with a schedule that works for all.

When does everything need to out of the buildings and removed from the property?

Full and Day Events – Everything must be out of the dining hall and kitchen (including the refrigerator and freezer) by midnight on the night of your event. On some occasions we may be able to leave a couple things in the refrigerator or freezer.  Experience has shown that there is more help at the closure of an event than in the morning and we need to begin our cleaning process to prepare for our next group. Items can be left on the porch of the dining room for pick-up by 11:00 a.m. of the following morning. Check out time for cabin rentals is 11:00 am.

Small Group Rentals – Please inquire with us about departure time for your event. This will determine the timing for the removal of your items.

Fire Pit

There is a 34” large portable cauldron fire pit that can be set up in the center of the facility on a cement pad for our guests to use. Foley provides firewood and will start the fire for our guests.

Foley Facilitator

The provided Foley Facilitator is your bridge between your event and our camp grounds. We are there to help greet vendors, direct deliveries and guests, get small items for you that you may have forgotten, adjust the layout of your space, etc. Many guests do their planning on their own, others work with event coordinators. We would be a go between for those people. We are available in case of emergency.  We also handle the disposal of garbage, maintain the restrooms and give general assistance.

We will provide the phone number of the Foley Facilitator to a designated person on the day of the event so they can text or call for help or in case of emergency. If you rent cabins, that phone number will also be posted there.

What does the Foley Facilitator NOT do? Foley staff is there as an assistant. Unless contracted separately we do not bus dishes, serve food or beverages, organize people to move from place to place, etc. Our role is in the background to make sure our facility is running well and you have what you need to make your event go off without a hitch. If you would like more assistance, especially with food service, please ask. We can sometimes accommodate that for an extra fee.

Grounds

You have an exclusive space for your event that has a large grassy field overlooking beautiful Whitefish Lake in front of the dining hall complete with a large deck.  The grounds and buildings are maintained to help to create a perfect setting for your event.  There are designated parking lots, overhead lights and solar lighting to aid guests in the dark, outside bistro lights, a fire pit, picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, and yard games.  Restrooms and garbage and recycling are provided and maintained during your stay.  There is a dock perfect for pictures, swimming, or guests getting dropped off by boat.

Parking

Cars will need to park in the large lot across the street from our main gate and for larger weddings, there will be other designated parking areas.  Foley Facilitators will direct guests in parking if needed. Guests will need to walk in or be dropped off as our roadways need to be kept open for emergencies.
